The Six Sigma Management Institute was founded by Mikel J. Harry. Over 30 years, we have trained hundreds of companies and thousands of individuals to help them reach their full potential in their industries and careers.
In these highly complex and data-driven times, we believe that every individual must be well-informed about the frameworks and tools that allow them to dive deeply into data, and then emerge with valuable insights that enable them to help their company and themselves, to achieve revolutionary improvements.
SSMI's mission is to provide the fundamental framework and tools, which enable any company to improve the quality of their products, services and ultimately increase the satisfaction of their customers.
Dr. Harry is the co-creator of Six Sigma, the founder of the Six Sigma Academy, the advisor to the world's leading CEOs, and the leading subject matter expert. Dr. Harry has been widely recognized and cited in many publications as the leading architect of Six Sigma and the world's leading authority in this field. He received the President's Award from the IPC at its 1990 annual conference for outstanding technical contributions to the field. In 1993 he was named to the “Who's Who” register of global business leaders. He was honored by Arizona State University with the 2002 Engineering Excellence Award for superb achievement in the engineering profession and outstanding contributions to society. His work is actively used and promoted by well-known institutions such as General Electric, Ford Motor Company, Sony, Allied Signal, Stanford University, Motorola, Texas Instruments, Unisys, IBM, Rockwell, Kodak, and the Department of Defense, among many others.
At the head of the European structure is Dr. Fabrizio Majorana who has always made efficiency and excellence his job. He held the role of Quality Leader of Ferrari, allowing it to win 8 world championships by applying Six Sigma. In addition to Ferrari, Fabrizio was also a quality leader at Maserati and served as Quality Director/COO of UniCredit Group, MBB for General Electric and Allied Signal. He was also a member of the international jury committee for the Process Excellence Award for 8 consecutive years. He has helped more than 108 companies and mentored more than 230 projects across all industry sectors and is currently the Executive Director of the Six Sigma Management Institute Europe.
He is also the author of "Lean Banking" and has trained thousands of resources on organizational excellence and Lean Six Sigma and is the first Executive Master Black Belt certified by Prof. Mikel J. Harry in Europe.
the Lean Six Sigma methodology uses the principles and tools of science for all levels of a company. We can see Lean Six Sigma (LSS) practice from four different altitudes. At its highest level, it is a strategic vision that embodies business success. Secondly, it is a tactical project management system that optimizes the control functions of a commercial or industrial enterprise. Third, it is a scientific approach to minimize forms of business risk associated with the operation of critical processes. Fourth, it is a philosophy of thinking, combining the power of deductive reasoning with the benefits commonly associated with data-driven decision making.
Our institute's programs and courses are designed for a wide range of professional profiles and organizations of any size, commercial or industrial.
Candidates who achieve a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification will be able to apply to the Belt Internship Program (BIP). The BIP is a 3-week internship program, during which participants will have the opportunity to work on real Lean and Six Sigma projects. To apply to the BIP, each participant will need to submit their CV and undergo a face-to-face interview with one of our Master Black Belts.
